Purpose and Effect: This action represents one of six barriers designed for planning mobile protection measures. It consists of beams stacked between posts. To place the barrier, draw a line on the terrain. The barrier type can be changed in the Action Settings Panel.

Barrier Limits

Maximum Height

The required materials and the wall height are automatically determined at each time step based on the water depth at the barrier. The maximum height of the wall can be customized in edit mode by changing the height of its line control points with Visual Handles. By default, the wall has a maximum height of two meters above the terrain at its control points. These points are connected to form the maximum wall.

Low water depth:
The wall is low because beams are only placed where they are required to hold the water back. Low barrier
High water depth:
The wall is overtopped because the water reaches the maximum depth the barrier can hold. Barrier overtopped
The wall height can be increased in edit mode, to prevent it from overtopping at the same water depth as above. High barrier

Maximum Slope

To ensure stability, mobile walls are only placed along their lines where the slope of the terrain does not exceed 57°. Below is an example where the terrain slope is too steep to place the barrier.

Building Walls

Barrier lines can be drawn through buildings and the barrier placement stops automatically at building walls to prevent their placement inside buildings.
