scenarify Versions

scenarify has been in continuous development since 2008, evolving through years of innovation and close collaboration with its users. 2024 marked a major milestone — introducing the most feature-rich release to date and transforming scenarify into a cloud-based platform, fully accessible via any modern web browser.

Since then, scenarify has adopted an annual major release cycle, with new versions published every autumn.

Version scenarify 2025

This major release introduces numerous improvements and new features across project management, simulation, visualization, and performance. The following sections summarize the most important updates.

Project Management

  • Added project and data sharing to support collaborative workflows and customer access, with adjustable interface complexity.
  • Added project deletion, download, and upload functionality to the main application bar.
  • Added file deletion via the Select file dialog for easier file management.

New Actions

Action Improvements

  • Line positions can now be entered in any coordinate system, including direct input in the system’s base coordinates without translation.
  • Visual handles are now displayed below the terrain for improved line manipulation.
  • Profile Inspection actions can now be imported from Shape Files.
  • Added verification plots for Sewer Inspection labels, enabling comparison between simulated and expected data.

Simulation and Modeling

  • Added support for sewer discharge controllers, allowing for flow regulation based on control curves.
  • Improved numerical accuracy and stability for culvert and outflow simulations.

Visualization and User Interface

  • Added the Potential Damage visualization preset, including comparative views and a new Surface: Potential Damage plot (see Potential Damage Estimation with BEAM), which estimates monetary damage over time using the Basis European Assets Map (BEAM).
  • For RLP base model users: added detailed visualizations for river nodes, river lines, river catchments, and gauges.
  • Expanded data export options for batch processing and simplified output directory setup by introducing a single output folder with automatic sub-organization.
  • World Lines: added Remove All for grouped scenario actions; improved handling of start/end times, time-step entries, and added bookmark time granularity.

Performance and Memory Optimizations

Support Features

Base Model Updates

General

  • Introduced advanced data versioning features, enabling seamless tracking and switching between different versions of terrain, land use, and other model data.
  • Added a new Administrator user model with extended functionality for external base model administrators.
  • New tiling applications assist administrators in updating base models with new datasets.

Rhineland-Palatinate (RLP)

  • Added a new hydrodynamic river flood model and base scenario with automated flow boundary condition setup within the chosen simulation domain. Users only need to specify the return period (e.g., HQ 100).
  • Culverts and structure removals derived from federal ALKIS data using a new AI-based correction procedure.
  • Added aerial imagery with a resolution of 20 cm.

North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW)

  • Integrated official ALKIS land use data, enabling automatic derivation of roughness and interception parameters.
  • Added BK 50 soil map, allowing for infiltration parameters to be derived directly from the dataset.
  • Culverts and structure removals derived from federal ALKIS data using a new AI-based correction procedure.

Denmark

  • Culverts and structure removals derived from federal data using a new AI-based correction procedure.
