Creation Mode: Draw Polygon on Terrain

Purpose and Effect: Allows users to define polygonal zones where water flow is restricted by invalidating cells within the specified area. The boundaries of these invalid cells are modeled with Free Outflow Boundary Conditions. This is useful for excluding regions from the simulation domain where results are not needed or where water should be removed, such as lakes and ponds not represented by landuse data.

Hint This action enables the creation of simulation domains with holes as well as polygonal simulation domains by designating areas outside the intended domain as invalid zone.

To analyze the impact of an invalid zone, users can enable the visual mapping of cell validities onto the terrain through the Visualization Settings Panel.
